It's going to be a surprise.

This evening Owen and I went to Sunny Hollow together and I got to see some of the work he has been doing there. When I asked what he was going to show me earlier in the week, he'd always tell me "It's going to be a surprise" and then smile. The surprise ended up being the 'hundreds chain' and helped click a few things for me. He came home last week counting by 10 up to one hundred and after seeing the hundreds chain tonight, I now know why. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching and seeing him learn. It almost makes my heart hurt I'm so proud. After spending some time in O's classroom, he and I went out to dinner together. My friend, Deb, watched Walter for me and graciously offered to keep him for dinner. It was really nice to have some special time with Owen. He's no longer work at a restaurant, but total and complete fun. Its like going out to eat with a good friend, he's really a joy to be with. We went to the Chatterbox because they have board games you can play while you wait (& eat!). We played Connect Four and Owen now has a new addition to his wish list.

Jer has started a new work schedule and it is completely awesome! He is now working from home on Mondays and then goes to Steven's Point for work Tues - Thurs. This week is the second week of the new schedule and we are enjoying it thoroughly. Its been really nice to have family dinners on Mondays and conveniently, the past two Mondays we've had snow and Jer's been home to shovel! :) We started a new tradition the boys hope to maintain - Monday Sundaes. (ok, I think they are pretty sweet, too.)This will come as no surprise...we hit up the local alley this weekend and enjoyed a game of bowling. Jer's birthday is this weekend and the boys are counting on a bowling birthday party. I have to say, its a perfect February past time in MN.
