About a year ago the boys' school hosted a Spring Walk in a local park. The boys and I wore our wellies while Jer wore some older work shoes. While we laughed about how silly his footware choice was at the time, we laugh even harder about every time we are out for a walk these days. At least 5 minutes of every walk is devoted to asking Jer why he hasn't worn his work shoes today.
Saturday we ventured out to Ashdown Forest, the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh. We set out on what was to be a 5 mile walk and ended up doing just over 8. I am owning up to the suggestion of veering to the left instead of the right as the book told us...resulting being a bit lost in the woods and an extra 3 miles. I would like to say I was just looking to make it a memorable walk but, well, I'm not sure the Hipps boys are buying that...
